No, it is not necessary to be B.Ed qualified in order to become a teacher in private school. Although qualification in B.Ed has been made compulsory to become a teacher in government schools in most of the states but the same is not a compulsion for the private schools. You can get teaching opportunity in private school being a M.Com qualified candidate. However, B.Ed qualified candidates will definitely get higher preference than the candidates who do not have B.Ed qualification.

B.Ed stands for Bachelor of Education. This is a teacher training course of two years duration. For becoming teacher in government school, this degree has become mandatory. Eligibility criteria: >Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. >Minimum of 50% marks in bachelor's degree.

To become professor in universities or institutes, you have to give NET (National eligibility Test) or SET (State eligibility Test). You need to possess Masters or equivalent degree to be eligible for this test.
